I figure there might be others like me out there who have artistic skills but limited coding know-how, or vice-versa; at afuna's suggestion, I thought I'd start a thread here to help folks find somebody to partner with for the creation of Dreamwidth themes.

I have a few designs done already and just need someone who can code them. If anyone's up for it, please comment or send me a PM. If anyone else out there is looking for a designer or a coder to partner with, please also post a comment and hopefully we'll be able to hook some folks up. w00t!

I love love love this idea!! I am willing to code CSS from a design, but I might not have the time to convert to S2. I would love to help you or anyone else who wants their designs coded.

I coded sven (CSS by self and S2 with the help of afuna for patches) and in LJ I make layouts too at Fruitstyle @ LJ.

Hey--I read on fruitstyle that you don't intend to import everything from fruitstyle, but I was flipping through them and thought some of them might be nice prospects, so I was wondering if it would be okay if other people converted them or if you just didn't want them converted?

Thanks for offering to code some styles! That's freaking awesome, I'm so excited about how many people replied. Usually what I do is just design a dummy layout in Photoshop to show what the elements look like and where they go, and I try to make them flexible so they'll work no matter what features people's individual journals employ. I haven't really done a lot of template design though so you just tell me what works for you and that's what I'll do. :) Just let me know what you need from me and how you'd like to proceed. I would be interested in getting involved with this. I can code CSS and would love to be involved in making more styles, but I'm not a very good designer. I have no idea how to make an S2 style, but I'd love to learn, if someone is willing to hold my hand through it. :)

Thanks! I've sent out messages to three people to code, but if any of them decides they don't have time or I end up designing too fast for them to keep up with (I suspect the designing is the fast part ;D), I'll definitely look you up. :) I'm hoping by having people's comments on here we'll be able to attract more designers; I wasn't expecting so many people to offer coding! This is awesome!

You know, that was silly, there weren't as many replies as I thought and I can really send designs to everybody. I have plenty, and I'm always making more. If you've got time to do it, just PM me and I'll whip up a layout for you to play around with. We'll make so many styles, they'll have to give us a medal. :D

I am getting further and further sucked into s2 everyday, but I have pretty much no ideas for style templates. Let me know how you want it to look, and I'll do my best.

I usually mock up full layouts in Photoshop, so all you have to do is code from that; I sent you a PM so if you want to try it, just shout back. I can design pretty much endlessly, I just can't do anything with it once it's designed. ;D

I would love it if someone with Photoshop could take ninetydegrees' Funky Circles images from this comm and do me a verson that's white/grey on a transparent background instead of dark purple/grey.

Also, if someone could do a new header image for Drifting with reversed colours that'll look good with my light-on-dark colour theme, that would be great.

I have the ability to code, but not the time now that I'm back in school; however, I have sketches (literal sketches! in notebooks! well, on class notes anyway) of things I would want made up into layouts. If anyone wants to work making the sketches/Photoshop mockups into actual S2 styles, and doesn't mind the fact that I am actually capable of doing it myself if only I could make the time (I swear I'm not just being lazy, it's nine hours of college a day plus work), do let me know and when I have something I like enough I will let you know.
