Layout/Theme Stats

Hey dreamscapers!

For my much-belated styles class, I've been getting my prototype style browser up to date. One of the things I then added are stats! How many themes does each layout have, how many total themes, dark on light versus light on dark, and other numerical goodies:

Dreamwidth Style Stats

People who have already submitted themes? Remember that you can take those color palettes and give other layouts some theme love, too!

Neat! I think you're missing five Negative themes because there are 412 themes.

Sorry about the multiple edits!

BTW, I saw a category of dw-nonfree. Do we have nonfree themes?

We do. Transmogrified, Sunday Morning and the ColorSide ones with graphics I believe.

It's done because of licensing terms -- we have the permission to *use* those themes/graphics, but not to *redistribute* them (or relicense them under a free license the way the rest of our stuff is licensed). So we have to keep them in dw-nonfree, which is our "not open source" branch, and which mostly contains unique site branding bits, etc.

So we wouldn't be able to modify those graphics to say...fit a different color scheme?

For the most part, you can modify them, the modified versions just have to stay in dw-nonfree. (None of the licenses the images are available under prevent modification, just redistribution/relicensing.) You can make themes for the styles, too -- there are some styles that are in there because the author gave us permission to use the style, but didn't sign our standard agreement that allows us to relicense their contribution.

Generally, don't worry about it: it's our job to work out the licensing stuff and you guys shouldn't have to keep it in mind.

I'm sorry. Seems I didn't understand your question correctly. :(
