Preview Images!

So, I'm starting to patch some of my themes, but I can't do the previews (as my computer isn't set up to do them or graphics stuff at all. I'm also just no good at the pure graphics stuff, but that's a story for another day/time).

So I was wondering if anyone is interested in doing the previews for them and such.

*raises hand* I'll help wherever I can (doing previews can be hard). I've just done the one for Barnhouse and added it for review to your bug. So I'm all set for any other Brittle preview. :)

Thank you! I was planning on patching all of the Brittle themes before I moved on to doing the ones for Refried Tablet.

Good then. One piece of advice if Afuna hasn't warned you about it yet: since you're going to patch the same files, you may need to make a patch on top of your other patch and make your new bug be dependent of the one for Barnhouse. I don't know if I'm explaining things clearly.

No, you're not being terribly clear on this one. If all else fails I'll make Afuna explain it to me in very easy simple words later today. Remember, I'm not very technical to start with, I'm just very good at following directions in terms of coding and stuff. I know how to follow directions well enough that I don't break anything, and know enough to occasionally come up with an original idea that works.

Aww, sorry then. I trust Afuna to explain it better (because she's the one who explained it to me in the first place :)) Simply ask her if you need to do something special when patching the same file you've already patched.

*grins.* Alright, will do. I was figuring to ask her to help me when I'm done with the patch[es] for the rest of them, too. Though I think I'm going to be patching the remaining themes for Brittle that I have done all at once, now that I have the hang of it down.

Yes, I could. One thing about your patch: it's got the code for Barnhouse as well so it's not going to really work (it failed to patch themes.s2 for me). Did you create a new patch *before* editing the files? I know it's easy to miss that step.

I actually caught that when I went to test it myself, and kareila helped me to fix it and generate a new patch, I marked the old patch as obsolete. So the new one should work. I forgot to clear changes before starting is what happened, so it tried to use ALL my changes.

Yeah, it worked for me too, but the first one generated a few errors when I tried to apply it to my 'hack. I then opened the diff to look at it, and realised that something looked kind of wrong, and so I took the correct changes from the bad patch, put them back into the file after clearing all my changes, and then regenerated the patch, and then it worked.
