Dreamscapes, round two
Hi everyone!
For those of you who are new to this community,dreamscapes is a community for submitting official layouts, to help people authoring official layouts, and to ease the process of conversion from pure CSS to being customizable with S2 variables.
In our previous round, we solicited layouts for Tabula Rasa based layouts. Now, we're opening updreamscapes to themes for all core2-based layouts -- Negatives, Tabula Rasa, and Transmogrified.
In addition,rich and av8rmike have been working hard to convert the Drifting layout, originally a submission to the LiveJournal style contest, to use Core 2. We're almost done; just a few more tweaks and we expect you'll soon have a new layout you can play around with.
We've been approaching layout authors over the past few days about having their layouts become official site styles; most have already said yes! The responses so far have been amazing. I love Dreamwidth, I love the community here on Dreamwidth, and I feel incredibly honored that so many of you are happy to share your layouts with everyone here.
If you see any layout entries you think are beautiful and would welcome our contacting them, tell us about them! If you're a layout artist, or know a layout artist, we're always looking for new designs to share. And if you're holding yourself back because say, you haven't tested your layout in all views, we're preparing tools and documentation to make it much easier for you to develop layouts. As we convert the layouts we accept, we'll document the process, and we're aiming to have better and more comprehensive documentation for you all soon. (Also, if you're able and willing to write tutorials based on what you know, that would be *wonderful*).
