Color Theme Multi-Layout Bundle: NNWM 2009

This is, in some ways, a proof of concept for something I suspected was true but wanted to find out for sure. I made a color theme for every current official style to match this year's NaNoWriMo webbadges. Once I worked out the basic color scheme, I was able to port to most system styles with minimal adjustment. A couple of branchandroot's styles call the color of an element from a non-standard place (e.g., the footer link in Stepping Stones gets it color from the pagetitle), a few I adjusted for minor aesthetic reasons (usually adjacent blocks of the same color making an odd shape), and I did Transmogrified completely differently because the alternating entry colors can be controlled via the wizard.

They are, at the moment, all named NNWM 2009, but that might be confusing. If I could get comments on that as well, I'd appreciate it.

Sounds like a great idea. Is there a quick way to see previews of these?

Went through the previews -- these look great! Love the effect on the Funky Circles theme, especially :)

If you're going to make the patches, I suggest making EasyRead a different patch, so it can go along with the rest of the EasyRead themes.

Just based on your preview of Funky Circles - Your module-calendar cuts off the numbers on the right side in Flock (2.5.2, Mac, based on Firefox 3.5).

I looked at it in Safari, and noted it looked not only cool, but wasn't cut off.

For some reason, the sidebar wouldn't load in Firefox 3.5.3. Maybe that's my dial up connection interfering.

I love your mod of Bases.

The problems are the same in Firefox. :) It's because the padding of each calendar is a little to big. I see I should also center the table...

Will file and fix. Thanks for noticing and telling me about it. :)

Sidebar loaded - after I posted. Of course.

Would you take a look at http://system.ninetydegrees.hack.dreamwidth.net/ and tell me if it looks ok in both browsers for you please? I only have FF.

It was perfect in the two Mac browsers that are Mozilla based (Flock 2.5.2, Firefox 3.5.4) as well as Safari 4.0.3.

Then I looked at it in Opera 10.01:

Ah, well.

;_; *goes to install Opera*

At least it doesn't look as bad as what it used to look like in the other ones.

Weird. I don't see it like this. I see it like on Firefox.

Opera is the only one that shows it like that. I haven't got updated browsers on Linux, so I can't tell you how it looks there.

Do you have non-default settings for Opera (font and font size I guess)? And which resolution are you seeing it in? (Mine's 1440). I'm completely puzzled by the fact that we see it differently.

No. I haven't changed anything. The only I've done is update to the newest Opera. That's all.

I was excited to see this as I am in NaNoWriMo this year and LJ doesn't have anything like this. But I was disappointed that only one of the two new pics were used in the color scheme. Are there plans to use the other icon colors as well, maybe on a white background instead of a black this time, to make them different?

This is what I ended up choosing for my LJ, http://karieflybabe.livejournal.com/

Personally I'm not sure if there is *enough* contrast in this layout and color scheme, but it works well with the blue and green icon and pictures.

Ohh there's a thought. The color scheme is pretty much the orange and black dominating, with the green as a secondary color. Maybe we can do one with the green etc dominating and the orange and black as secondary.

Can't promise anything, though :-)
