Actually, the easiest layout to do this with is probably Tranquility III. If you go to Organize > Select Style, and look under Base Styles, and find Tranquility III, just click on the preview-magnifying-glass in the upper right corner of the thumbnail. That will open a window that shows your journal in that style, and that one is also based on TR, so if there's still a problem with overlap in IE8 it should show up there.
