Colour Theme / ColorSide / Mandala

layout: ColorSide
one colour theme: Mandala
Image info: Image public domain from www.openclipart.org

This is the first time I've been working with images, and I'm not sure I did it right. The image I selected was taken from www.openclipart.org, here, but I have no idea if the quality is all right and so on. Right now it's saved here on my Photobucket account.

Do you have a link to the clipart page?

No I meant a link to the clipart on http://www.openclipart.org/ so that I can see if there is a difference in quality between the vector file and the png file.

My sincere apologies! I didn't see the link and thought you meant the one to Photobucket. *facepalm*

The colours in the picture are just awesome.

Ok I tried to find a compromise between quality and size and I've got one which is about 80Ko: http://i48.tinypic.com/2ptzeah.jpg

What do you think?

I like the image and how the entire theme flows. I don't know about the yellow hover color but I guess since it's just in the hover effects it shouldn't matter much.

Really pretty theme, this one =)
I like it.

That's a really pretty theme. The way you use the colours of the image in the layout is very nice. I agree with [personal profile] timeasmymeasure though, the light yellow of the hover colour is not the best choice. It's so light it gives me the feeling that the link is disappearing when I hover over it.

Hmmmm, what about using either the red of the dots or the pink/lilac of the next to outer circle for hover colour instead of the yellow? Or does that not work with the orange and green?

Oh you can definitely use my link!

Images for ColorSide are stored in dw-nonfree in htdocs/stc/colorside/. Save the pic to your computer, rename it using the style name as this is how other pics are named for ColorSide. Create a patch in PuTTY. Drag and drop the pic from your computer to the WinSCP folder. In PuTTY, type hg addremove then hq refresh then do everything else you need to (you can also do this at the end). When you upload your patch in Zilla, also upload the image as a second attachment. Don't check 'patch', of course, and select the correct file format in the list. Set 'review' and 'commit' to ? as usual.

Food for thought: what about using the yellow as a hover color for the module links? I don't know if it's going to be visible enough over the orange background but, as I said, food for thought. :)

Hmm I see. This made it work for me:

function Page::print_theme_stylesheet() {
"""
#secondary .module-content a:hover { color: $*color_module_link_hover; }
""";
}

Dancing_serpent, can I assume you're going to patch this?

[personal profile] ninetydegrees 2010-07-08 11:06 am (UTC)(link)
You don't *have to* include the image in your patch, though. I mean you can do the patch as usual then post the pic as an attachment and the committer will upload it for you (they may have to do that anyway even if you've included it in the patch; I can't remember). Then, if you feel like it, you can create a second patch on top of the other one where you do include it. As training.

Hmm. Nope, everything goes into nonfree.
