New Layout + 4 themes - Planet Caravan

So [livejournal.com profile] spire/[livejournal.com profile] daemon gave me permission to recode their layouts for DW's code base, as they stopped making custom layouts a few years back, and I love their work. So this is the first of probably several sets of recodes + color themes.

The background image in Starry Sky is my own work in Photoshop. The default is one-column, but it looks equally nice in all the other modes, too.

Layers and Tonals, oh my! 10 each for Librarian's Dream and Line Up

Ports of the lot I made for Strata, because the color layering works so well here too :)

Couldn't resist a few themes for this super-cute layout. Don't ask me how most of them ended up with food names, I don't either. Grape Jelly and Bubblegum both use an embedded Google Webfont.

New Style - Corinthian + 6 color themes

Yep, still flooding this place with new stuff (at least, uh, Fly Away and Rising won't be done for a while?)

Four themes for Strata

...AKA: Tonals - You Can't Stop At Just One.

Decided I wanted a rainbow of tonals, so here's red, orange, yellow, and violet, to go with the blue and green I had in the last post (indigo, as much as I love it, is not quite visually distinct enough from blue and violet to get a layout)

Notes: As with the last set, soliciting feedback on any contrast problems - I had to do a lot of fiddling with Sunshine in particular to get it to look okay to my eyes. Also soliciting alternate names for Blood, as I know that's potentially off=putting to people. Big restriction is that it be something semi-nature-based like the others, and convey that nice jewel-tone red (I contemplated fruit names for a while but didn't come up with any that fit well)

Notes: Header image tile for Angel Cake was made by me, so it's totally free. And while these are official submissions and not drafts, it's become apparent while sharing some of these around my idea of acceptable contrast maybe differs from the norm. They aren't meant to be high contrast layouts, but I don't want them to be very low contrast either, so if it seems like an issue on preview, please give a shout. I'll probably patch myself, so I can tweak colors a touch.

New Style - Heads Up + 5 themes

After much fighting with code and 2am debates about image placement options (a great big thank you to the members of #dw for having that with me), this thing is ready for submission

Layout: Heads Up

Layout info: Source
Additional info: CSS needs clean-up and condensing - I started it based on Paletteable, which inherits from Tabula Rasa, and partway through realized I needed to redo Print::page to get the results I wanted, so it's got the core TR stylesheet and the custom one. But I'll probably be doing the patching myself on this one again *g*

New Style Draft - Heads Up

So it seemed from some of the discussion on other layout comms that users wanted something like LJ's Expressive/Mixit styles, which for those unfamiliar with them, are fixed width and have pretty header images.

Now, I know we don't do fixed-width-by-default here, but I decided I'd try my hand at something that could be set between fluid and fixed width very easily, and supported header images above the header text, as well as behind it. The base once again is [personal profile] branchandroot's Paletteable because apparently it's my go-to for a clean starter code *g*

Source is here, and you can see it live here, though the back-end stuff is where the magic (and thus the feedback-needed is).

Stuff I plan to do for sure:
-make the sidebar background extend the length of the page (and in fact thought I had, up until, uh, right now)
-Style the month headers on archive-page-by-year to look like the subject headers on entries.

Stuff I am waffling about:
-right now the image input for the header is the same as the background header-image, with a toggle between the two. I'm not sure if it should stay like that, or if there should be an option to have header background /and/ a banner-header.
-Not sure what other CSS tweaks I should make because... I am not always an ideas person *g*

Additional info (for layouts): I could use some IE/Opera/Safari testing - I've done Firefox and Chrome myself. I've also patched the files already on my Dreamhack, so if you want to muck around with them there, they're already in the customize area! This should support all layout modes and all basic options, including custom friends colors. (and because they're on my Dreamhack, I can't figure out how to link more than one preview at once :|a)

EDIT: tossed in some screencap previews for the other two, in case anyone wants to see what they look like before fiddling *g*

(no subject)

Theme name/layout: Marginless

Layout info: Source Code / Preview with a Paletteable color theme
Image info: N/A
Additional info (for layouts): Tagging this as draft, because I have a handful of known issues I'm trying to work out:

-I can't figure out the property for custom circle colors. Ideally I'd like the userpic border to change to that when it's set for a user.
-Not sure how to be the modules to wrap on one-column view - right now, they display in one huuuge column, even if more than one can fit across the width.
-I don't know how to set more than one author in the code! This is a modified version of [personal profile] branchandroot's Paletteable base.
-This name is boring :P
